Dear Madam Speaker: Re: Nazis & Astroturf & Health Care

As a Consigliore of Dissimulation I’m not certain you’d recognize a Hakenkreuz in the middle of an Astroturf athletic stadium. (Or Giants Stadium) Your Nazi comments of yesterday were classic examples of defending legislation that’s in real trouble because too few Americans understand all aspects of the bill, including programs, costs & benefits; - because too few House members have read it; - and because millions of Americans simply don’t trust you*. Periodic 90 second frozen rote smiles & vapid finger pointing accusations are no substitutes for honest debate. Your histrionics only make your case more untenable.

It’s pathetic what 22 years on the planet Beltway will do to the mindsets of some elected officials. Why are you so afraid of honest debate, & classify your political opponents as unwashed mobs of Archie Bunkers waving bloody shirts of bigotry & hedonism?

How scary that our nation has a House Speaker who spends so much time scanning the skies for black helicopters, while protecting us from unauthorized dissent.

* Case in point. Your repeated comments that illegal aliens won’t be covered by the proposed health care legislation, while you work the back alleys with congressional committee chairpersons & fellow travelers to insure that illegals are covered.
