United States House of Representatives
Fax: 202-225-3196Dear Congressman Berman: Re: HR - 2414
Regarding the above legislation, “A bill to improve agricultural job opportunities, benefits, and security for (ILLEGAL) aliens in the United States and for other purposes”. Instead of this transparent ideological sham, why not demonstrate a little more love & devotion for your country by writing legislation entitled, “A bill to improve job opportunities, benefits, and employment security for citizens of the United States”?
After 27 years in Congress, on the subject of illegal immigration, you seem to revel in confusing your constituents with pious statements about “bringing them out of the shadows”. Your constituents (fellow Americans) are forced to take back seats to guerilla handlers who may or may not be Americans.
Your proposed legislation requires that illegal immigrants, “Show that they worked 863 hours or 150 work days or earned at least $7,000 in agricultural employment during the past four years”. This means that 89.2% of these agricultural workers’ time, when not harvesting crops, can be spent displacing unskilled Americans, blue collar workers, & high school kids from the workplace in restaurants, the fast-food industry, car washes, construction, building trades, the restaurant and hotel industries, and gardening. The displacement list is endless, and so is your underhandedness & devotion to stealth handlers.
Our jobless rate is 9.4% nationally, and 11.2% here in California. For non-college American minorities the national jobless rates are horrifying. For African Americans it’s 15%, and 11.3% for Latinos. Many of these figures apply to unskilled & less-educated Americans. We’ve got the highest national jobless loss in more than 25 years. Not that you give a damn, but the attached file** demonstrates just what a ticking time bomb & loose cannon you’ve become on the subject of illegal immigration.
Sincerely,
Michael Scott** http://migration.ucdavis.edu/rmn/more.php?id=1413_0_5_0
