Far too much has been made of your unfamiliarity with the Cuban Missile Crisis. A more relevant consideration regarding this almost nuclear war is that had a President Bush clone been president during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Earth would now be a dead planet.
Defense Secretary Robert McNamara’s assessment of this near catastrophe: “The world was faced with the greatest danger of a catastrophic war. The performance of the U.S. Government during that critical period was more effective than at any other time during my seven years’ service as Secretary of Defense. The agencies of the Government worked together smoothly and harmoniously.”
Contrast the above with President Bush, who lacks the qualities of vision, leadership, motivation, believability, competence, analytical wherewithal, and a sense of mission statement. Think about all the losers & hacks that President Bush has surrounded himself with. Think about Katrina, Iraq and his latest “miscalculation” about Iran.
Mercifully this victimized nation must endure only thirteen more months of this worst president in our history. I can only hope the U.S. won’t attack Monaco or Lichtenstein during these final lame duck months.
